Visitors to French Creek State Park will soon have a new way to enjoy the outdoors with comfort and convenience. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) announced this week that French Creek is among eight state parks set to introduce Timberline glamping accommodations beginning in spring 2026.
French Creek will host two glamping loops. Loop A, open from March 6 through December 31, will be the first all-season glamping site in the Northeast. Loop B will operate from April 24 through October 31.
Glamping — short for “glamorous camping” — blends traditional camping with modern amenities such as real beds, heating and air conditioning, electricity, lighting, and outdoor seating. Each park will also include an ADA-accessible tent to ensure accessibility for all visitors.

“This new offering is another way we’re ensuring that our state parks remain welcoming and enjoyable for all Pennsylvanians,” said DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn. “By transforming underused campsites into beautiful glamping experiences, we’re expanding overnight options in a way that’s affordable, sustainable, and beneficial to local communities”.
Guests will be able to reserve one-night weekday stays or two-night weekend and holiday stays. Add-on options include firewood bundles, games, gourmet s’mores kits, and locally sourced experiences, linking visitors with nearby communities and businesses.
Under the collaboration, DCNR will receive a share of revenue from Timberline Glamping Company’s operations, which will help fund further park improvements. Timberline co-owners Nathan and Rebeka Self said their goal is to create “beautiful, truly unique, and unforgettable spaces” where guests can enjoy the outdoors without sacrificing comfort.
Reservations for French Creek’s glamping sites are now open for the 2026 season through DCNR’s “Stay the Night” webpage and Timberline’s website.
