Woman found dead near overturned vehicle in Reading crash investigation

Update 3/28/26: Berks County Coroner Matthew J. Stitzel identified the decedent as 21-year-old Aleah Marie Kaylor, of Laureldale Borough.

The investigation determined that Ms. Kaylor was driving her Chevrolet Cruze when she failed to negotiate a curve in the 800 block of Morgantown Road. The vehicle struck a guardrail, left the roadway, and came to rest on its side, partially in Angelica Creek.

The cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.

Original post: A woman was found dead Friday morning following a crash in the 800 block of Morgantown Road, according to the Reading Police Department.

Police said officers were dispatched to the area around 10:15 a.m. for a reported motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had rolled over near Angelica Creek. The vehicle was unoccupied.

While searching the area, officers found a deceased female a short distance from the crash site. Her identity has not been released.
