Girls on the Run Berks Opens Registration for ‘Girls Have Power’ Winter Session

Girls on the Run of Berks County will host its first winter session, Girls Have Power!, a camp-style program spanning five Saturdays from noon to 3pm beginning January 30.

This five-week program provides 3rd-5th grade girls a safe place to connect with a small group of peers, express creativity, establish healthy physical activity habits, and build confidence.

Using an intentional curriculum that incorporates small and large group games, physical activity, interactive workshops, and individual reflection, girls learn valuable skills to help them build meaningful and positive connections with others.

“A winter session allows us to serve more girls and provide them with opportunities to engage with their peers for physical and social activities” said Program Coordinator Tania Hollos.

“The Girls Have Power! theme of the winter session gives girls a chance to learn more about their emotions and the emotions of others which is especially important during these times.”

Girls Have Power! will take place at the Sinking Spring Family YMCA and will be facilitated by trained Girls on the Run coaches. The registration fee is $125.00 per girl; a payment plan and financial assistance are available.

Spots are limited to comply with CDC, state, and local COVID-19 safety guidelines. Registration is open now at GOTR Berks Girls Have Power Winter Session.
