The Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Greater Reading and Berks County has officially announced the appointment of its new Board of Directors. This diverse and highly experienced group of leaders is set to steer the organization towards continued success in fulfilling its mission of supporting the youth of the local community.
The newly appointed board is led by P. Sue Perrotty, who will serve as Board Chair. She will be joined by a distinguished lineup of members, including Angel Helm as Vice Chair and Finance Committee Chair, and Camille Faust, who will oversee development efforts. Other key members include Richard “Dick” Ehst, Desha Dickson, and John Loyack, who will chair the Facilities and Safety Committee.
“We are thrilled to welcome such a talented and diverse group of leaders to our Board of Directors,” said Sue Perrotty. “Their combined expertise and commitment to our community will enable us to continue to ensure financial stability and responsible governance in order to continue providing invaluable programs and services to the children of Greater Reading and Berks County.”
Tammy White, President of United Way of Berks County, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the significant role the new board members will play in maintaining the club’s longstanding tradition of providing hope and opportunities for local youth. “The Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Greater Reading and Berks County has long been a beacon of hope and opportunity for our local children and young people. The new board members bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy, ensuring that the club remains a safe and nurturing environment for all its members,” White said.
Rick Perez, CEO of the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, underscored the importance of the board’s role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction. “All of us at Olivet are dedicated to enabling all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The new board members will play a critical role in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, fostering partnerships, and enhancing the quality of programs offered,” Perez stated.
The board’s commitment has already begun to bear fruit. Recently, the Olivet Invitational Golf Event, chaired by volunteers Nick and Felicia Lambros, raised over $180,000. The event, which took place at the Ledge Rock Golf Club, was supported by numerous community leaders and sponsors, including the title sponsor, World Electronics. Perez noted that the success of the event is just one example of the positive impact the new board is having on the organization.
As the Olivet Boys & Girls Club of Greater Reading and Berks County moves forward under the guidance of its new Board of Directors, the organization is poised to continue its legacy of service, ensuring that every child in the community has access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
