One Love Project Collecting Food for Late August Distribution Event

The One Love Project, an initiative that promotes wellness within the LGBTQ+ community, is hosting the first One Love Food Distribution event on August 30, at The Gables at Stirling Guest Hotel from 10-1pm.

The Project, co-founded by Timothy Nye and Angel Gonzalez, is collecting canned and bagged foods of all kinds, snacks, microwaveable meals, fresh meats/veggies (need to be dropped off the day of the event), hygiene products, cleaning products, gift cards to a local grocery store, masks and dog/cat food.

Donors can drop off their donations Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-1pm and Wednesdays from 6-8pm at The LGBT Center of Greater Reading 1501 N. 13th Street.

Also, from Aug. 24 to 28 at The Gables at Stirling Guest Hotel 1120 Centre Ave. from 5 to 8pm.

“It’s been a week since we began collecting goods for the event and we are more than happy for the support we have received from the community so far”, said Gonzalez.

“One of our main goals is to impact and unify the Reading community. Even though we are currently focusing on establishing the One Love Project Food Distribution, we are planning more events soon that will bring our community together while helping those in need”, added Nye.
