PennDOT Driver License, Photo Centers to close for Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that all driver license and photo centers across the state, including its full-service center in Harrisburg, will be closed from Saturday, October 11, through Monday, October 13, 2025, in observance of the Columbus Day/Indigenous People’s Day holiday.

Although physical locations will be closed, customers can still access a wide range of services online through PennDOT’s Driver and Vehicle Services website. Available options include driver’s license and photo ID renewals, vehicle registration renewals, driver-history services, changes of address, restoration letters, and the ability to pay restoration fees. Other services such as ordering duplicate driver’s licenses or photo IDs, completing REAL ID pre-verification, and scheduling driver exams are also offered online at no additional cost.

Online services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

PennDOT also noted that a full list of driver license and photo center closings for 2025 is available on its website. Residents who plan to visit one of PennDOT’s Online Messenger Service Centers during the holiday weekend are encouraged to call ahead to confirm hours of operation.
