Police in Berks County gear up for 4/20 weekend with crackdown on impaired driving

The North Central Regional DUI Enforcement Program is reminding all travelers to drive safely this weekend. Expecting an in increased incidents of impaired driving this weekend with Saturday’s date 4/20, (4/20 having significance in the cannabis culture) police will employ DUI Checkpoints and DUI Roving Patrols to keep all impaired drivers off the highways throughout Berks County.

This is one part of Berks County law enforcement’s sustained impaired driving enforcement efforts. All Police officers in the County will be looking for impaired drivers. Remember, “Drive Sober or get Pulled Over!”

Berks Police officers will be vigilant in apprehending both Alcohol and Drug impaired drivers to make are roadways safer this weekend.  

The North Central Regional DUI Enforcement program equips, funds and coordinates the municipal police DUI enforcement in the following counties: Northumberland, Schuylkill, Berks, Snyder, Union, Columbia, Montour, Berks, Monroe and Pike.

Sobriety Checkpoints and Roving Patrols are funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
