Rainy weather doesn’t dampen community spirit at Kutztown’s ‘Breakfast with a Cop’

A steady rain couldn’t keep residents away from one of Kutztown’s most anticipated community events. Nearly 90 people turned out Monday morning for the Kutztown Police Department’s “Breakfast with a Cop,” held inside St. Paul’s UCC banquet hall.

Officers from the Kutztown Police Department served pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, and juice to residents of all ages in a relaxed and welcoming environment. The event provided an opportunity for informal conversation between police and community members, helping to build stronger personal connections outside of traditional enforcement settings.

According to the department, conversations covered everything from community concerns and local events to lighthearted topics such as who makes the best pancakes, how much bacon is too much bacon, and whether officers or kids consume more syrup per pancake.

The event was supported by several local businesses and organizations, including Giant Foods, Weis Markets, St. John’s Day Care, The Optimists Club, Multicell Packaging, and The Kutztown Police Association. Firehouse Coffee provided fresh coffee, and Crystal at The Quality Shop assisted in sourcing food. St. Paul’s UCC provided use of its kitchen and banquet hall.

Even with rainy skies, the atmosphere inside remained positive as residents, officers, and volunteers came together to share a meal and strengthen community bonds. The event is part of the Kutztown Police Department’s ongoing efforts to promote understanding and community partnership.
