Reading Extending Closure of City Hall through Jan 19

Mayor of Reading Eddie Morán is extending the closure of City Hall through January 19, 2021, in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

“As we wind down the holiday season, I hope that everyone finds themselves in good health and can safely enjoy quality time with their family” said Mayor Morán in a statement Tuesday.

“Given the number of infections that continue to climb in Berks County and Reading, I am extending the closure of City Hall for two more weeks until Tuesday, January 19th.”

All City Hall employees, with the exception of those in emergency services, will be working from home.

”I continue to emphasize that this is not time off and that employees are expected to perform their duties and provide City services to the best of their abilities while maintaining directives from their supervisors.”
