Reading Hospital employees “Stuff the Bus” to support Reading School District

Reading Hospital Magnet Champions partnered with United Way of Berks County to support Reading School District through the 2023 Stuff the Bus campaign.

On Tuesday, August 22, hospital employees gathered outside of Reading Hospital’s clock tower to drop off Dream Boxes filled with school supplies for teachers and nurses.

More than 100 hospital departments adopted a total of 104 classrooms and 21 school nursing offices at Glenside Elementary, Millmont Elementary, and Tyson-Schoener Elementary School in the Reading School District.

“This event is so important to us and our local schools,” said Barbara Romig, DNP, Chief Nursing Officer at Reading Hospital and Tower Health. “We had such a great turnout and are so happy that we can provide this level of support to our local elementary school teachers and school nurses. Thank you to all the teams and departments who worked hard to help to collect materials to support our community’s schools. A special thank you to the Nursing Magnet Champion Team who organized the collection and distribution of the donated supplies.”

Once all trucks were filled, the hospital team hit the road to personally deliver the Dream Boxes at each of the schools to faculty.
