The City of Reading has announced that Caramel’s Dog Park at Schlegel Park will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday, April 8, to allow for improvements and maintenance.
According to the city, the park will remain closed through Monday, April 13, and is expected to reopen on Tuesday, April 14.
The closure will allow for the installation of new dog agility ramps and repairs to the park’s grass. Officials said the new equipment will require concrete pads to be installed to ensure safety and durability.
The work is being carried out by the city’s Public Works Department in partnership with the Reading Conservation Corps.
City officials said the upgrades are intended to enhance the park for residents and their pets, and they thanked the public for their patience during the temporary closure.
Updates will be shared on the City of Reading’s website and official social media channels.
