The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has posted an updated list of recent Retail Food Inspection Reports for restaurants and food handlers in Berks County. Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On 3/25/2026, Leesport Diner, located at 5407 Pottsville Pike, Leesport, PA 19533, was inspected and found with the following violation: Double doors located at the stairs leading from the kitchen to the basement of the food facility have a gap at the bottom and do not protect against the entry of pests.
On 3/25/2026, Kutztown Beneficial Association, located at 310 Noble St, Kutztown, PA 19530, was inspected and found with the following violation: Side of the grill and side of oven closest to the fryer are not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of grease and debris. Two fryer baskets were observed with broken wires. Floor below the fryers and grill was observed with grease build up.

No tissue paper is available. Mops are not being hung to air dry. Corrected. Assorted food items were held at 48 °F, in the prep area refrigerator, rather than 41°F or below as required. Food was moved to the walk-in until service is completed on the refrigerator. Floor and wall by the soda box tower was observed with excessive syrup and debris and in need of cleaning.
On 3/26/2026, The Railroad House, located at 152 Woodrow Ave, Sinking Spring, PA 19608, was inspected and found with the following violation: Floor at the cookline area of the food facility was observed with excessive food debris, and in need of cleaning. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was 0 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. Until Ecolab can get here for service restaurant is instructed to sanitize dishes in the three bay sink with Steramine tablets. Mops are not being hung to air dry. Corrected.
