The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is urging consumers to immediately discard any Meadow View Jerseys brand raw milk purchased since April 1, 2025, citing concerns over possible Campylobacter contamination.
According to the department, multiple people reported symptoms of campylobacteriosis after drinking the raw milk. Testing later confirmed the presence of Campylobacter in the product. Affected milk products, with sell-by dates between April 15 and July 8, 2025, were distributed in several counties including Berks, Dauphin, Lebanon, and Lancaster.
In Berks County, Meadow View Jerseys raw milk was sold at Weaver’s Orchard, located at 40 Fruit Lane in Morgantown. The milk was available in both plastic and glass containers in half-gallon and gallon sizes.
The Department of Agriculture noted that the farm had contacted wholesalers, but a full list of customer purchases could not be obtained. A complete list of current retail locations was also unavailable, though several 2024 distributors were identified.
Campylobacteriosis typically causes diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramping, with symptoms developing two to five days after exposure. Children are most commonly affected, but severe cases can pose serious health risks for people with weakened immune systems.
Consumers who purchased Meadow View Jerseys raw milk since April 1 are advised to discard it immediately. Additional information on the risks of raw milk is available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website.
