Last month, members of Berks County Parrot Head Club presented a check from the Summer Parrot Daze fundraiser to the Reading Public Library Foundation.
The annual event, held June 24th at Chapel Hill Golf Course and Pavillion, attracted 200 guests and raised $14,500 to support the Reading Public Library’s STEAM Outreach Coordinator. The event featured music by the Plenty Pepper Steel Drum Band and the Caribbean Sunset Band.
Since its inception, the Berks County Parrot Head Club has raised over $875,000 for local charities through several annual fund raising events.
According to library representative. Linda Capozello, “We were very pleased to be able to work with this amazing group of people who truly know how to have a good time while keeping their commitment to ongoing and substantial community support.”
