The Camel Project invites the community to come together for “Power in Unity: Accountability to Our Community,” a public forum focused on youth violence prevention, healing, and shared responsibility. The event will take place on Saturday, November 15, at 9:00 AM at the GoggleWorks Theater in downtown Reading.
Organized by The Camel Project, this event will feature presentations and updates from three key community organizations: Bethany Children’s Home, Green Building Alliance and The Camel Project.
Each organization will share what they are doing to address violence, the progress they’ve made, and what support they need from the broader community to strengthen their impact.
The morning will begin with networking, coffee, juice, and a “Build Your Own Bagel Bar” at 9:00 AM, and then the formal program at 9:15 AM. The forum will also include a special tribute to local youth lost to violence, honoring their lives and reaffirming the community’s commitment to meaningful change.
“Accountability starts with showing up for each other,” said Pamela S. Gockley, Founder and Executive Director of The Camel Project. “This event is about more than conversation—it’s about compassion, connection, and commitment to real, community-driven action.”
A Community Q&A will follow at 10:00 AM, providing attendees with the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and explore collaborative next steps to reduce violence and strengthen community trust.
The event is free and open to the public. All residents, educators, service providers, and youth advocates are encouraged to attend.
