Nighttime paving with lane closures: PennDOT upcoming roadwork Sept. 16, 2024

PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.

In Ruscombmanor Township, utility work at the intersection of PA 12 and PA 73 will cause lane restrictions from September 16 to September 20, 2024, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain will not cause delays.

In Exeter Township, crack sealing on US 422 between Neversink Road and PA 662 will result in an eastbound lane restriction from September 16 to September 20, 2024, between 7:00 PM and 5:30 AM. Rain may cause delays.

In Muhlenberg and Bern Townships, US 222 between the Spring Ridge Exit and PA 61 will undergo nighttime paving, causing lane closures in both directions from September 15 to September 20, 2024. Work will be done from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Rain may cause delays.

In Greenwich Township, Old Route 22 between Franklin Street and the Lehigh County Line will experience lane restrictions with flagging from September 16 to September 20, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.

In Amity Township, lane closures on US 422 between PA 345 and PA 662 will occur on September 16, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.

In Spring Township, Wyomissing Borough, and Ontelaunee Township, US 222 between the Lancaster County Line and Old Topton Road will have lane closures with flagging from September 17 to September 20, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.

Monocacy Creek Road in Amity Township will have lane closures with flagging between Monocacy Road and Galahad Lane from September 16 to September 17, 2024, and again from September 18 to September 19, 2024. The work will take place from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.

In Alsace Township, Friedensburg Road between Giner Lane and Cactus Lane will have lane closures with flagging on September 20, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.

In Boyertown Borough, PA 73 between Kehl Street and Berks Street will be closed and detoured for HOP permit work from September 23 to October 23, 2024. This restriction will be in effect 24 hours a day, and rain will not cause delays.
