PennDOT has announced several upcoming road projects across Berks County that will bring lane restrictions and potential delays for motorists beginning Monday, October 27. Drivers are encouraged to use caution and plan for extra travel time as crews complete maintenance work at multiple locations.
In the City of Reading, pothole patching will take place on Spring Street between 5th and 9th streets. The work will run from October 27 to October 28 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in place during the project.
In Bethel Township, maintenance crews will be working along PA 501 from the Lebanon County line to Exit 23 at Shartlesville. The project is scheduled for October 27 and 28 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Motorists should expect lane restrictions with flagging in this area.
Further north, in Bern Township, PennDOT will continue work on PA 501 from the Schuylkill County line to Frystown Road. That project is slated for October 29 through October 31 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., with lane restrictions and flagging in effect.
In Maxatawny Township, brush cutting will take place on Eagle Point Road between Krumsville Road and Stump Road. The project is expected to run from October 27 to October 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lane restrictions with flagging will be in place.
Finally, in Penn Township, drainage work will be performed on Boundary Line Road between Wolf Creek and Molasses Hill Road. Crews will be on site from October 27 through October 31 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Drivers should expect lane restrictions with flagging in the work zone.
According to PennDOT, all of the projects are weather dependent and may be delayed by rain. Motorists are reminded to remain alert and use caution when traveling through active work areas.
