Utility relocation, traffic pattern changes: PennDOT upcoming roadwork June 10, 2024

PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.

Ruscombmanor Township, daytime lane restrictions will be in effect at the PA 12/PA 73 intersection for utility relocation work by a local utility. The restrictions will be from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting June 10, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 14, 2024. Rain will not cause delays.

Bethel Township, nighttime lane restrictions will be in place on Interstate 78 between Exit 23 (Shartlesville) and Exit 16 (Midway) due to construction by a PennDOT contractor. Restrictions will be from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM starting June 9, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 14, 2024. Expect delays and use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

Greenwich Township, nighttime lane restrictions and traffic pattern changes on ramps will be in effect on Interstate 78 between Exit 35 (PA 143) and Exit 45 (PA 863) for intelligent transportation system installation by a PennDOT contractor. The restrictions will be from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM on June 11 and 12, 2024. Expect delays and use caution in the work zone. Rain will not cause delays.

Cumru Township, there will be no restrictions during a daytime work operation on Interstate 176 between Exit 10 (PA 724) and Exit 2 (PA 10) by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. The work will occur from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting June 10, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 14, 2024. Please use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

In various townships, nighttime sweeping will be done on US 222 between State Hill Road and the county line by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. There will be no lane restrictions for this moving operation in both northbound and southbound directions. Work will take place from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM starting June 10, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 14, 2024. Please use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

In Oley Township and Pike Township, daytime lane closures with flagging will occur on Oysterdale Road between PA 73/Philadelphia Avenue and Old Route 100 for work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. Restrictions will be from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting June 10, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 12, 2024. Expect delays and use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

In District Township and Pike Township, daytime lane closures with flagging will be in effect on Bitting Road/Long Lane between PA 73/Philadelphia Avenue and Huffs Church Road for work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. Restrictions will be from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting June 13, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 14, 2024. Expect delays and use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

In Bern Township, daytime lane restrictions with flagging will occur on PA 183 between Plum Creek Road and Old State Hill Road for work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. Restrictions will be from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting June 10, 2024, with an estimated completion date of June 11, 2024. Expect delays and use caution in the work zone. Rain may cause delays.

In Sinking Spring Borough, daytime lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect on Fritztown Road between Mountain Home Road and Hull Street for work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. In Albany Township, daytime lane restrictions with flagging will occur on PA 737/Krumsville Road between PA 143 and Old Route 22 for drainage work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces. In Perry Township, daytime lane restrictions with flagging will be in effect on PA 662/Moselem Spring Road between PA 61/Pottsville Pike and PA 143/Hill Road for drainage work by PennDOT Maintenance Forces.
