Wind advisory issued for Berks County through Saturday morning

A wind advisory has been issued for Berks County by the National Weather Service, effective from 1 a.m. Friday through 1 a.m. Saturday, as strong southwest winds are expected to move through the region.

According to the advisory, winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are forecast, with gusts reaching up to 45 miles per hour at times. The advisory covers portions of southeastern Pennsylvania, including Berks County.

The gusty conditions could cause unsecured outdoor objects to be blown around, and tree limbs may come down, potentially leading to isolated power outages. Drivers are advised to use extra caution on the roads, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, as strong winds can make driving more difficult.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items, including holiday decorations and other loose objects, ahead of the strongest winds.
