Wyomissing begins search for new fire chief

The Borough of Wyomissing has opened the hiring process for its next fire chief, a leadership role overseeing the Wyomissing Fire Department.

The new chief will be responsible for department management, including daily operations, training, personnel, code enforcement, and community risk reduction. Borough officials said they are seeking an experienced and motivated professional with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills who is committed to public safety.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for a qualified individual to step into a critical leadership role within our community,” said Michele Bare, Wyomissing Borough Manager. “The Wyomissing Fire Department has a long-standing tradition of excellence, and we look forward to welcoming the right candidate to continue that legacy.”

Applications must be submitted by Friday, September 5, 2025, at 3 p.m. Submissions can be delivered in person or by mail to Borough Hall. The position offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, following a 90-day probationary period.

The Wyomissing Fire Department, founded in 1907, provides fire suppression, emergency medical response, rescue operations, and public education to borough residents. Staffed around the clock by trained professionals, the department emphasizes both service and community safety.
