Jamie Chmielewski named new Site Director at WREC Olivet Boys and Girls Club

Olivet Boys & Girls Club has hired Jamie Chmielewski as the new Site Director at the Olivet site in the West Reading Elementary Center (WREC Olivet) starting September 27, 2021. The site will be first made available to youth in 5th and 6th grade and over time expanded to 4th and 7th grade students of the Wyomissing Area School District.

“I am thrilled to be able to bring to the table my many years of experiencing working with and advocating for the youth of our community. I believe that through Olivet’s partnership with Wyomissing Area School District, my team and I will be able to make a lasting, meaningful impact on the lives of those whom we serve,” said Jamie Chmielewski, WREC Olivet’s Site Director.

Jamie has worked to enable and develop Reading and Berks County’s youth, especially those with special needs, for over 15 years. Prior to joining Olivet Boys & Girls Club, she was responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized fitness programs for youth and young adults in her previous role. Furthermore, through her work as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, she implemented school-based occupational therapy programming for both regular and special-education Reading Area School District students in grades K-12.

Winters further stated Chmielewski will utilize her skill set to work with students, parents, and the education professionals of the Wyomissing Area School District to engage each student in line with the Olivet mission to help youth reach their full potential as healthy, productive, caring, responsible citizens.

“Jamie will bring dynamism and passion to our program at West Reading Elementary Center,” said Nick Philippides, Vice President of Satellite Sites & Services for Olivet Boys & Girls Club.

“Her background in programming for youth, including her experience with implementation in a school-based setting, makes her the right person to spearhead our new program there and for providing Wyomissing Area students with an impactful after-school experience.”

The West Reading Elementary Center Olivet Boys & Girls Club (WREC Olivet) site will be the organizations 11th site. All registered youth will have access to all Olivet Boys & Girls Club programs and services offered by the Club.

The site will be open Monday through Friday and reflect the calendar of the Wyomissing District. This Olivet site will only serve the youth in the Wyomissing Area School District area.

Information and notifications on the process for parents to sign-up their children for the WREC Olivet will be announced and distributed through the Wyomissing Area School District communication system.
