Lobachsville Road Bridge over Pine Creek to close for bridge deck replacement

PennDOT has announced Lobachsville Road Bridge over Pine Creek in Pike Township will be closed until November for bridge deck replacement.

the Lobachsville Road Bridge sits between Long Lane/Bertolet Mill Road and Oysterdale Road. The posted detour will route traffic on Oysterdale Road, PA 73/Philadelphia Pike, and Bertolet Mill Road.

A two-span concrete box beam bridge constructed in 1970, Lobachsville Road Bridge is 73 feet long and 46 feet wide. The section of Lobachsville Road has an average daily traffic of 599 vehicles.

Road crews will be replacing the bridge deck as part of a $2,747,271.62 contract to repair five bridges in Berks County. The other four bridges are the PA 100 Bridge over West Swamp Creek in Colebrookdale Township; PA 143 over an Unnamed Tributary to Maiden Creek in Albany Township; Krumsville Road/Greenwich Street over Sacony Creek in Kutztown Borough; and Berne Road over Mill Creek in Tilden Township.

H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA is the general contractor on the project, which is scheduled to begin on August 9, 2022, with and estimated completion date of November 2, 2022.
