State Police investigating murder-suicide in Ruscombmanor Township

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of a husband and wife Tuesday morning in Ruscombmanor Township as a murder-suicide.

On Tuesday, December 28, 2021, 10:50am, State Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Poplar Street in Ruscombmanor Township for a 911 hang up. Upon arrival to the scene, troopers found a deceased male outside the house.

Soon after, the PSP Criminal Investigations Unit was called to the scene, at which point a female was found deceased inside the home.

According to a State Police incident report, investigators determined that the male victim, identified as 82 year-old Rodger Anderson, died due to a self-inflected gunshot wound, outside of the residence.

The female, identified as 84 year-old Phyllis Anderson, sustained multiple stab wounds, by her husband and subsequently succumbed to her injuries inside of the residence.

Phyllis Anderson’s death was ruled a homicide. Rodger Anderson’s death was ruled a suicide.
