The Berks County Special Operations Group, Team HazMat, in conjunction with the Luminant Ontelaunee Power Plant and local first responders, will be conducting an exercise at the Luminant Ontelaunee Power Plant on Saturday, September 17, at 9am.
The power plant is located at 5115 Pottsville Pike in Ontelaunee Township.

The exercise will test responders’ ability to address the emergency conditions surrounding a simulated release of hazardous materials.
Residents may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles in the area during this time. No actual materials will be released as part of this exercise, and apart from the increased emergency vehicle traffic, individuals in the area should not be impacted by the exercise.
