Update 5/6/19: Additional slope stabilization work is being performed at the US 422 West Bridge over the Schuylkill River where deterioration to an abutment and roadway shoulder from water scour was discovered last week. Lane restrictions will occur Wednesday from 9am – 1pm.
Expect significant delays on US 422 West at Interstate 176. The lane was closed Friday afternoon when inspectors found scour damage to an abutment and roadway shoulder on the 422 West Bridge over the Schuylkill River.

According to PennDOT, maintenance forces and bridge engineers are developing a repair plan, and until repairs are made the lane will remain closed. There is no estimate at this time how long the lane will remain closed.
