PagodaFest will celebrate 275th Anniversary of the City of Reading

In conjunction with the 275th Anniversary of the City of Reading an event will be held on the scenic grounds of the Pagoda, 98 Duryea Drive, on Saturday August 5th from 2-8pm.

“The Pagoda is Reading’s most iconic landmark so it’s fitting to hold an event for the 275th Anniversary there. Early in planning for the 275th it had been ruled out as an event location because of the capacity and it being closed for assessment and restoration. I felt there was some way to still do something there and then the idea came to me to have an outdoor event. PagodaFest will be an event to bring people together at our beloved Pagoda to celebrate it and our city. We hope this event will continue past the anniversary year and be a part of the greater plan to ensure our landmark’s future.” Laura Reppert, City of Reading 275th Special Event Coordinator

PagodaFest will feature local bands, food trucks, kids activities and vendors all located in the parking lot of the Pagoda. Taking place the same day as the event is the Reading Gravity Racing League’s Skyline Drive race from the Fire Tower to Drenkel Field.

The two events together will give a unique opportunity to enjoy the area around both landmarks and the mountain without vehicle traffic. Shuttles will run from City Park to the Pagoda for attendees. Times for the events are: Reading Gravity League race 1pm-4pm, PagodaFest is 2pm-8pm.

Those interested in helping with the event or vending can complete the form via the city’s website https://form.jotform.com/231905537049055
