The Reading Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night near the intersection of Schuylkill Avenue and West Buttonwood Street.
Officers responded to the area around 11:45 p.m. on April 5 following reports of a shooting. When police arrived, they found a 22-year-old man, later identified as Christopher Green, inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the back.
Green was transported to Reading Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have not released any suspect information at this time but noted that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
