State Police investigating road rage incident involving firearm in Earl Township

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a road rage incident that reportedly escalated when a firearm was displayed, according to a public information release from the Reading Patrol Unit.

Troopers were dispatched on the evening of May 14, 2025, to the 1000 block of West Philadelphia Avenue in Earl Township, Berks County, for the report of an assault. According to police, the incident involved a 31-year-old male from Fleetwood who said he was engaged in a road rage encounter with another motorist.

The victim told investigators that both vehicles pulled to the shoulder of the road, and the other driver exited his vehicle. The victim then exited his own vehicle to confront the individual, at which point a firearm was reportedly displayed.

No further details have been released at this time. State police say the investigation is ongoing.
