Annual Pennsylvania-German Farm Festival returns to Dreibelbis Historic Farm

The annual Pennsylvania-German Farm Festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dreibelbis Historic Farm in Virginville.

Built in the 1860s, the unremodeled farmhouse is considered one of the best-preserved examples of rural life in Berks County. The festival offers visitors the chance to step back in time with a variety of historical activities and demonstrations.

This year’s event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides, a nature trail, demonstrations of old-time tools and farming techniques, Native American displays, Pennsylvania German crafts, and local history exhibits. Revolutionary War reenactors, a Civil War display, period music, and old-fashioned games for children will also be part of the day’s activities.

Food will be available for purchase from the Virginville Grange, along with Heisler’s Ice Cream. Admission to the festival is free, with parking available for $3. Tours of the main house will be offered for a small entrance fee.
