Two teens charged as adults in Wyomissing shooting; police seek public’s help

Update – 9/12/25: Both suspects in the August 12, 2025, shooting near The Works are now in custody. Ethan Z. Arce surrendered on September 2 and was committed to Berks County Prison on $75,000 bail. The second suspect, Ethan S. Gonzalez, turned himself in on September 12 and was denied bail.

Original post: The Wyomissing Police Department has charged two 15-year-old boys as adults in connection with a shooting that took place in the borough on August 12.

Police identified the suspects as Ethan Z. Arce and Ethan S. Gonzalez, both 15, and said the charges were filed in adult court due to the seriousness of the crime. The incident is being investigated as an aggravated assault.

As of Thursday, both teens remain at large. Authorities are urging the public to help locate them.

“The Wyomissing Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding the whereabouts of these individuals,” the department said in its announcement.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wyomissing Police Department at 610-375-6102, submit a tip through Crime Alert Berks at 877-373-9913, or dial 911 if they are seen.

The shooting remains under active investigation. Police said further updates will be released as the case progresses.
