Reading to mark 24th anniversary of September 11 attacks with memorial service

The Reading Fire Department and Mayor Eddie Morán will host a memorial service on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. at the September 11 “Memorial Tree” in City Park, near Constitution Boulevard and Hill Road. The event will honor all who lost their lives that day, with special recognition given to the 343 New York City firefighters who died in the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.

For those unable to attend in person, the memorial will be streamed live on the City of Reading, PA – Government Facebook page, the City’s Municipal Access Channel, and online at BCTV.org/Live/MAC.

In addition to the morning ceremony, Mayor Morán has ordered two white lights to shine from the roof of City Hall in the evening, symbolizing the Twin Towers.
