Update – 10/10/25: Police seek Reading man after self-defense claim disputed in fatal double shooting
Original post: Two men are dead and a third injured following a shooting early Saturday morning in Reading.
According to the Reading Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:58 a.m. on September 27 to the 800 block of Nicolls Street after receiving reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they found two adult men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to Reading Hospital. Police said one man died on the way to the hospital, and the second was pronounced dead after arrival.
A third adult male later arrived at Reading Hospital with a gunshot wound. Authorities said he is currently being treated and is expected to survive.
At this time, police do not have suspect information but said investigators believe there is no known danger to the public.
