Rotary District 7430 and supporting West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club is proud to acknowledge the newly formed Rotaract Club of Berks County at their Charter Night celebration on November 19, 2025.
Katie Farrell, Past District Governor of Rotary District 7430, opened the celebration with heartfelt words: “It is with immense pride that I welcome this new Rotaract Club to the family of Rotary International. Tonight, you receive your official charter, which is more than a piece of paper. It is a promise, your pledge to this community and each other that you will use your collective talents and fellowship to make a real difference and create lasting change.”
Upon receiving the Charter, President Jay R Kemmerer highlighted the official launch of the Rotaract Club of Berks County saying, “Today marks an exciting milestone as we officially establish the Rotaract Club of Berks County. What began as three of us sitting around a table at our very first event, trying to figure out how to spark interest, has grown into a dedicated group of young professionals who truly believe in giving back. A big part of this club’s creation came from recognizing a real need. When I first got involved with Rotary, I saw that many young professionals simply cannot step away from work for a lunch meeting or an early morning coffee, and dues can feel overwhelming for recent graduates navigating college debt. Rotaract gives us the chance to offer that same spirit of service, but in a way that is flexible, accessible, and built for our stage of life.”
“Along the way, the most meaningful part has been the friendships that naturally formed. We have created a space where community service and genuine connections go hand in hand, where people show up, laugh together, support each other, and grow together. Watching those bonds develop has been incredible. I am deeply grateful for the support of all our current members, our Board Members, and the local community. And we extend our sincerest appreciation to our biggest supporter, the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club, for believing in this idea and helping us bring it to life.”
“I hope this is just the beginning, and years from now, when others and I have aged out, we can look back and see this club still thriving, growing, and continuing to serve Berks County for generations to come. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, your encouragement means everything as we begin this next chapter.”
