Expired milk in cooler and expired food on shelves: Restaurant Inspections, January 16, 2025

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has posted an updated list of recent Retail Food Inspection Reports for restaurants and food handlers in Berks County. Inspections are a “snapshot” of the day and time of the inspection. Violations are recorded but are often corrected on the spot prior to the inspector leaving the facility. On January 16, 2026, Wayback Burgers, located at 1181 Berkshire Boulevard, Wyomissing, was inspected and found with the following violation: Working containers (spray bottles) in the front and back areas, used for storing chemicals, cleaners taken from bulk supplies, were not marked with the common name of the chemical. Corrected.

On January 16, 2026, Salino’s Stand, located at 10 South Summit Avenue, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility offering prepackaged food for sale from an unlicensed source. Corrected.

On January 16, 2026, DMA Pizza, located at 549 Penn Street, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Potentially hazardous ready-to-eat food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the refrigerator, is not being date marked.

On January 16, 2026, Bar Cart, located at 713 Penn Avenue, West Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Interior of the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Corrected immediately and owner has a full cleaning scheduled.

On January 20, 2026, Super Natural & Fresh Produce, located at 1336 North 12th Street, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violations: Commercial Food in the deli area stored open with no covering. Raw beef displayed next to raw pork, in common equipment with no barriers to prevent cross-contamination. Observed prepped food stored directly on the floor, rather than 6 inches off of the floor as required. Old food residue, dishes and utensils observed in the handwash sink, indicating uses other than handwashing. Commercially processed ready to eat food, located in the deli counter and held more than 48 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened. Food thermometer is not scaled to measure to +/- 2°F.

On January 20, 2026, Go Fish Seafood, located at 301 South Hull Street, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Dust build up was observed on the hood vents and ceiling in the kitchen area. Corrected.

On January 20, 2026, Glad Tidings Church – Sacred Grounds Cafe, located at 1110 Snyder Road, West Lawn, was inspected and found with the following violation: Food facility has an employee who held a Certified Food Manager certificate; however, the certificate has expired and is no longer valid.

On January 20, 2026, Fat Boyz, located at 953 North 12th Street, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Commercially processed ready to eat food, located in the refrigerator, and held more than 48 hours, is not being marked with the date it was opened.

On January 20, 2026, Circle K / Prime Foods Inc., located at 1255 Montgomery Avenue, New Berlinville, was inspected and found with the following violation: Observed 2 boxes of Cheerios with a BBD of 10/12/2025 and three jars of Peanut Delight Creamy Peanut Butter with a BBD of 12/19/2025 on the shelves. Corrected on-site.

On January 20, 2026, Albright Mart LLC, located at 1800 North 12th Street, Reading, was inspected and found with the following violation: Expired milk in the cooler and expired food on the shelves.

Several other restaurants were inspected during this time period with no violations reported: Sheetz #273 in Exeter Township, Dunkin Donuts #339950 in Hamburg, CVS #1301, Acker S Beverage in Saint Lawrence, Virginville Grange in Virginville, St. Columbkill Parish in Boyertown, Hissho Sushi at Giant #6289 in West Lawn.
