Mayor Eddie Morán announced Thursday afternoon that snow removal operations continue across the City of Reading, with Public Works crews working around the clock to clear priority corridors, Snow Emergency routes, school zones, and residential connectors.
“Our crews continue to make steady progress throughout the city,” said Mayor Morán. “We appreciate the cooperation from residents who are moving vehicles and helping our teams safely and efficiently clear streets.”
Snow Removal Completed (As of Today, 1/29/26): 000 Block of N. 3rd Street, 200 & 300 Blocks of N. 6th Street, 1000 Block of Washington Street, Schuylkill Avenue – 400 block to N. Front Street/Walnut Street, Schuylkill Avenue – 500 block through 800 block, Franklin Street – 200 block to 300 block.
Crews Currently Working: Schuylkill Avenue – 1500 block, Walnut Street – 100 block, Franklin Street – 400 block, South 5th Street – 100 block. Third
Shift Operations (Overnight): Overnight crews will resume work where operations ended last evening and will focus on Snow
Emergency routes along North 13th Street and Penn Street corridors. Crew One: Starting at 13th Street & Douglass Street, working north toward Spring Street, Crew Two: Starting at 13th Street & Green Street, working south toward Walnut Street. Following completion of these areas: One crew will clear the 1000 and 900 blocks of Penn Street. A second crew will begin in the 500 block of Penn Street and work west. These areas are designated Snow Emergency routes, and parking enforcement including towing will be in effect.
Planned Operations for Friday, January 30 Continuing snow removal on key corridors: Franklin Street – continuing east, Walnut Street – continuing east, Schuylkill Avenue – west side of the 1500 block, working south toward Columbia Avenue, Front Street – starting at Walnut Street and moving north, 11th Street – starting at Franklin Street and moving north toward Walnut Street, Court Street – continuing east.
