Caramel’s Dog Park at Schlegel Park temporarily closes for lighting installation

The City of Reading has announced that Caramel’s Dog Park at Schlegel Park will be temporarily closed to the public effective immediately to allow for the installation of new lighting as part of the City’s GESA Sustainability & Modernization Project in partnership with Schneider Electric and AEC Lighting.

Active construction has begun and is expected to be completed by February 18, 2026, weather permitting. To ensure the safety of both park visitors and the installation crew, the dog park will remain closed for the duration of the project.
