The Miller Center for the Arts at Reading Area Community College has announced its 2026-27 season, featuring a lineup of music, comedy, dance, holiday performances and family programming in downtown Reading.
The season includes tribute performances celebrating the music of Crosby, Stills & Nash, the Eagles, Elvis Presley, ABBA and John Denver, along with internationally acclaimed dance, Broadway-themed entertainment and several holiday shows.
“We’re excited to welcome our community back for a season that truly has something for everyone,” said Megan Schappell, general manager of the Miller Center for the Arts and director of special events at Reading Area Community College. “Our goal is to bring high-quality live entertainment to Reading while keeping it accessible and affordable. Whether you love classic rock, comedy, dance, Broadway or are looking for something the entire family can enjoy, there’s a show for you this season.”
The season opened Friday, Sept. 18, with Wooden Ships Band, which recreates the music and harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash and Young, with three women performing the group’s signature harmonies.
Comedian Sara Contreras follows Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. with “Freak of Nature,” a multimedia comedy show exploring family, marriage, parenting, technology and aging.
October brings several performances to the Miller Center, beginning with Best of the Eagles on Oct. 2. The Eagles tribute is followed by Compagnie Hervé Koubi’s “Sol Invictus” on Oct. 8, which combines contemporary dance, urban movement, capoeira and martial arts.
California Dreams will take audiences through the music of California in the late 1960s and early 1970s on Oct. 9, featuring songs associated with The Mamas & The Papas, Eagles, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne, The Byrds and others.
The Carole King & James Taylor Story will offer two performances Oct. 10, at 3 and 7 p.m., celebrating the music of the two singer-songwriters.
November’s lineup begins with Sing Along Broadway on Nov. 1, an interactive performance inviting audience members to join in on Broadway showstoppers. Pianist Jim Brickman will bring “Piano Sensation & A Little Bit of Christmas” to the theater Nov. 5, combining his music and storytelling with holiday favorites.
Local composer and musician Jill Haley will premiere “Quietude: Music for Shenandoah National Park” on Nov. 14. The performance will feature music inspired by Shenandoah National Park accompanied by imagery of the landscapes behind the compositions.
The holiday season continues in December with Jesse Garron’s Tribute to Elvis on Dec. 3, followed by “We Three Kings: The Irish Dance Christmas Sensation” on Dec. 4. The production features 20 Irish dancers and musicians along with an original holiday score.
Mamma Mania!, an ABBA tribute, will perform Dec. 12, followed by “Rocky Mountain Christmas,” featuring John Denver tribute artist Ted Vigil, on Dec. 15.
Family programming continues into 2027. Puppy Pals Live, a comedic stunt dog show featuring mostly rescued dogs, is scheduled for Feb. 12. The show has been featured on “America’s Got Talent” and combines tricks and stunts in a family-oriented performance.
Dino-Light will close out the announced lineup March 14 with performances at 2 and 7 p.m. The glow-in-the-dark production combines puppetry, technology and dance to tell the story of a friendly dinosaur exploring an illuminated world.
Ticket prices for the season vary by performance, ranging from $15 for Jill Haley’s “Quietude” to $75 for select seating at “Sol Invictus.” The Miller Center said free parking is available for performances.
The Miller Center for the Arts is a 500-seat theater located on the Reading Area Community College campus at 4 N. Second St. in Reading.
