Wyomissing Borough Council announced Tuesday that Borough Manager Michele Bare will step down from her position after 18 years of service with the borough.
Bare has served the Wyomissing community in several roles across multiple departments during her tenure before being appointed borough manager more than four years ago. According to the borough, her work has been marked by a commitment to public service and a focus on maintaining high-quality municipal services for residents.
During her time as borough manager, Bare oversaw daily municipal operations and helped guide the organization through a variety of projects, operational improvements, and evolving community needs. Borough officials said her leadership strengthened partnerships across departments and with elected officials while helping shape long-term planning efforts.
Bare has accepted another professional opportunity, according to the borough. She will remain in her role for the next three months while Wyomissing Borough Council conducts a search for her successor and works to ensure a smooth transition.
“As a woman in municipal leadership, Michele has been an inspiration to many who aspire to serve their communities,” Borough Council President Kristen Gajewski said. “I am deeply grateful for her years of dedicated service to the Borough, where she consistently demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and tireless commitment to our staff and residents.”
Gajewski said Bare’s leadership has left a lasting impact on the community and thanked her for her years of service.
Additional information about the borough’s search for a new borough manager is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
