Bridge repair, on-going construction: PennDOT upcoming roadwork March 27, 2026

On US 422 in Reading and Cumru Township, crews will perform bridge repairs between Penn Street and Interstate 176 from March 30 through April 2. Work will take place weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with lane restrictions in both directions at various locations. Motorists should expect delays and use caution in the work zone. In Centre Township, work will take place on Belleman’s Church Road between PA 61 and Irish Creek Road from March 30 through April 3. PennDOT maintenance forces will be conducting unspecified work with daytime lane restrictions and flagging between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Drivers should expect delays and proceed with caution. Rain may impact the schedule.

On Interstate 78 in Tilden Township, brush cutting will be carried out between Exit 29 (PA 61) and Exit 23 (Shartlesville) from March 30 through April 2. Work will occur on the shoulder during daytime hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area. Rain may cause delays.

Additionally, brush cutting is scheduled on Dunkel’s Church Road in Greenwich Township between Crystal Cave Road and Kohler Hill Road on April 3. Crews will work along the shoulder with flagging in place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone. Rain may delay the work.

On Interstate 176, long-term construction continues in both directions at mile marker 4.6, with a shoulder closure in place 24 hours a day through the duration of the project. In addition, intermittent construction activities will result in lane closures in both directions between March 30 and April 3, occurring daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Motorists should expect delays and use caution in the work zone.
