A two-vehicle crash in Boyertown Borough on Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of a local man, according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred on April 5, 2026, at approximately 4:52 p.m. in the 300 block of South Reading Avenue. Authorities said the victim’s vehicle was traveling northbound when it drifted into the southbound lane and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Jan C. Windbiel, of the 800 block of North Reading Avenue in Boyertown Borough. The office was notified of the incident at 5:10 p.m. by the Berks County 911 Center, and Windbiel was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m.
An investigation determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
The coroner’s office was assisted at the scene by Eastern Berks Regional Police and Boyertown Area Fire & Rescue.
