The Reading Parking Authority announced Friday evening that it has permanently closed the 5th & Cherry parking lot in downtown Reading, effective immediately, citing future development plans for the property.
The lot, located at 29 S. 5th Street, will no longer be available for public parking. Motorists are being directed to use alternative facilities, including the 4th & Cherry Garage, South Penn Garage, and other Reading Parking Authority garages.
