Brecknock Township man identified after being found dead in private pond

The Berks County Coroner’s Office has identified a 77-year-old man who was found dead in a private pond in Brecknock Township earlier this week.

George E. Dunda, 77, of Brecknock Township, was identified as the man found in a pond in the 1600 block of Wyomissing Road, according to an update released by the Coroner’s Office.

The Berks County 911 Center received a call on Sept. 14 reporting an individual in the pond. Investigators from the Coroner’s Office responded to the scene, where Dunda was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding Dunda’s death remain under investigation. The Coroner’s Office said additional information will be released as the investigation permits.

The Coroner’s Office thanked the Brecknock Township Police Department for assisting with the investigation.
