Advance Auto Parts opened its first Wyomissing location Thursday, marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a donation to Berks Career and Technology Center.

Representatives from Berks Career and Technology Center joined local officials and company representatives for the opening ceremony. Advance Auto Parts presented a donation to the school’s automotive technology program to support hands-on training and career preparation for students.

“Opening our first store in Wyomissing is an exciting opportunity for Advance Auto Parts,” said Eli Rosa, regional vice president for Advance Auto Parts. “We’re looking forward to serving customers and building relationships throughout the community. Helping support Berks Career and Technology Center’s work is one way we can celebrate this opening while recognizing the important role local schools play in preparing students for the future.”

According to the company, the donation will help students gain practical experience and training as they explore careers in the automotive industry.

“The support of the community along with our business and industry partners play an important role in helping our students explore career opportunities and gain real-world experience,” said Dr. Michael Stauffer, executive director of Berks Career and Technology Center. “We’re thankful for Advance Auto Parts’ partnership and support of the Berks Career and Technology Center. This donation will help support the hands-on training that gives students a better understanding of the careers available to them after graduation.”

Advance Auto Parts cited U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projections showing approximately 70,000 openings for automotive technicians annually through 2034.

The Wyomissing store carries automotive parts and accessories including batteries, brakes, filters, fluids and tools. Services available at participating locations include battery testing and installation with purchase, wiper blade installation with purchase, check engine light scanning, loaner tools, starter and alternator testing, and oil, fluid and battery recycling.

The store is open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
