The Berks County Parks Department is busy setting up for the annual “Holiday Lights at Gring’s Mill” program that runs the month of December. Starting Thursday, December 5th park visitors can walk around the beautiful grounds of Gring’s Mill park, to view the spectacular light display highlighting the historic buildings and landscaping around the park.
After enjoying a walk-through light display, visitors can warm up in the barn by the fireplace listening to live music each night from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Kids can visit with Santa in the lower level of the barn next to our snack bar; and kids of all ages will love visiting the model train display in the former generation station building on the bridge.
Visit with real Reindeer from Spruce Run Farm on Saturdays, December 7th and 14th. Watch the artists of Sculpted Ice Works in action on Thursdays, December 12th and 19th.
Kids and Families can enjoy free Holiday Workshops with crafts and entertainment on Sundays, December 8th and 15th from 1-4:00 pm. While kids make seasonal decorations, they can enjoy a holiday movie on December 8th; while Grammy-nominee Roy Owen entertains kids on December 15th with his ‘Music & Good Time Family Fun’ on December 15th.
