Award winning actor, producer, director, screenwriter, US Army Veteran and local Berks County resident, Robert J Morgalo, is offering a free seven-week acting workshop to local veterans who are interested in getting into professional acting.
Morgalo is a retired and disabled US Army veteran who served in Iraq from 2003-2004. He started acting at the age of 52, three years after retiring from the Army.
He currently has over 45 film and television credits and has done over 50 commercial projects. You may have seen him as Frank on the national USAA commercial with Superbowl champion Rob Gronkowski or on NBC’s Law & Order SVU opposite Ice-T and Kelli Giddish.
Morgalo has also written and produced nine film projects in Berks County in the past two years, receiving numerous awards at film festivals from around the world.
The workshop is intended to help veterans learn how to get into the film, television, and commercial acting industry, while at the same time provide a therapeutic and creative outlet for fellow veterans.
The workshop, which will be hosted at the Doubletree by Hilton in Reading, will run once per week starting on Monday September 19, 2020. It is open to veterans over the age of 18 and space is limited to twenty people.
RSVP is required and a commitment to attend all sessions once confirmed. This weekly acting workshop will run on Mondays for seven weeks from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a Certificate of Completion awarded by Outhouse Production Films at the end of the workshop series.
