Business owners, local elected officials, and residents gathered on the 700 block of Penn Avenue in West Reading Friday morning to celebrate the grand opening of Lucky Finds Consignment Boutique. The upscale women’s clothing consignment store features designer and non-designer clothes, footware, handbags, jewelry, and accessories.
Formerly located in Douglassville, Owner by Diana Maldonado and Store Manager Brenda Melendez say they are excited to be apart of the Penn Avenue community. “I’m very happy to be here, everyone is so welcoming!” said Maldonado. “I can’t wait to share this store with everyone in the community.”
Before opening Lucky Finds, Maldonado worked in Law Enforcement, with Melendez as her adjunct instructor at Berks Technical Institute. After leaving the program at BTI, the two partnered to build there dream consignment shop.
With the motto “it doesn’t have to be new to be fabulous”, Maldonado and Melendez work with community members in consigning clothes and accessories, hand picking unique items to offer for sale. For items that go unsold, Maldonado say she gives consigners the option to donate items to the store. In turn, Maldonado then donates unsold clothes to local women’s shelters.
Lucky Finds Consignment Boutique is open Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 6pm, and is located at 703 Penn Avenue in West Reading. Phone number: (610) 743-3497.
