In the beginning of August, Pizza Hut announced it would be closing 500 of its U.S. dine-in locations to focus on delivery and carryout. Without a definite date or what locations would be affected, the news would serve as a warning as to what is to come.

In the U.S., roughly 6,000 Pizza Hut locations are traditional restaurants. With plans to re-focus its efforts on fast casual delivery, the pizza chain is closing under performing locations across the county.

This week, residents in West Lawn abruptly found their Pizza Hut location closed. A sign on the door says “We are sorry to say we are permanently closed. We thank you for your years of patronage. We look forward to seeing you at our Shillington carryout and delivery location”.

Pizza Hut operates 12 locations in Berks County, 3 dine-in restaurant, 6 carryout/ delivery, and 3 Express locations.
