PennDOT maintenance forces and private contractors have scheduled several construction projects in Berks County this week. To help our readers avoid travel delays, here are a few of the most notable projects.
In Ruscombmanor Township, utility work will be conducted at the intersection of PA 12 and PA 73. This will result in lane restrictions from July 22, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This work is being performed by a local utility, and rain will not cause delays.
In Bethel Township, construction on Interstate 78 between Exit 23 (Shartlesville) and Exit 16 (Midway) will cause nighttime lane restrictions from July 21, 2024, to July 26, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This work is being done by a PennDOT contractor, and rain may cause delays.
In Sinking Spring Borough, Fritztown Road will have lane restrictions in both directions with flagging between Mountain Home Road and Hull Street. This work, done by PennDOT maintenance forces, will take place from July 22, 2024, to July 23, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Wernersville Borough, Fairmont Avenue will have lane restrictions in both directions with flagging between Church Road and US 422. PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct this work from July 24, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Centre Township, Garfield Road will have lane restrictions in both directions with flagging between Bellemans Church Road and Plum Creek Road. PennDOT maintenance forces will work on this from July 22, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Ruscombmanor Township, Fleetwood, and Lyons Borough, Park Road/Fleetwood Lyons Road will have lane closures in both directions with flagging between US 222 and PA 100. PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct this work from July 22, 2024, to July 24, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Lyons Borough and Longswamp Township, Lyons Road will have lane closures in both directions with flagging between Fleetwood Lyons Road and US 222. This work by PennDOT maintenance forces will occur from July 25, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Maidencreek Township, there will be no restrictions on US 222 between Genesis Drive and Schaeffer Road. PennDOT maintenance forces will work here from July 22, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Washington Township, shoulder work will occur on PA 100 between Mill Street and Chestnut Street. PennDOT maintenance forces will perform this work from July 22, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Rain may cause delays.
In Cumru Township, eastbound shoulder work on US 422 between Lancaster Avenue and I-176 will be conducted as a moving operation by PennDOT maintenance forces from July 22, 2024, to July 26, 2024, between 7:00 PM and 5:30 AM. Rain may cause delays.
