The County of Berks and Penn State Health will be making several adjustments to the operations of the Berks Cares Vaccine Center to follow community trends and current interest.
Starting this week, the Vaccine Center’s new hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
The change in hours is being made since weekday use of the Vaccine Center has dwindled, with most appointments taking place on Saturdays. The evening weekday hours were added due to expressed interest in that opportunity.
While appointments are still preferred, the Berks Cares Vaccine Center will also be accepting walk-ins for vaccinations and booster shots during open hours.
The Vaccine Center offers the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines, including the pediatric Pfizer vaccine for children 5 years and older.
Appointments can be made for first, second and third doses and booster shots through Penn State Health’s scheduling portal, available through doyourpartberks.com/vaccinecenter. A call center is also available at 844-774-8883.
The Berks Cares Vaccine Center reopened in October 2021 through a new public health partnership between the County of Berks and Penn State Health.
The County is providing the facility and assisting with messaging about the Center while Penn State Health is managing all site operations and supplying the vaccine and staffing.
The Berks Cares Vaccine Center is located in the North Reading Plaza at 5370 Allentown Pike in Muhlenberg Township. More information about COVID-19 testing sites and vaccine opportunities in Berks County can be found at doyourpartberks.com.
