3 arrested in Spring Township convenience store robbery

Spring Township Police have arrested three men in connection to an armed robbery that took place at 7-Eleven, located at 3100 State Hill Road, on Wednesday, January 25th, 2023.

Officers were called to the convenience store around 2am for a report of a robbery. The victim, a store clerk, told responding officers that two individuals, dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and jeans, with masks covering their faces, entered the store and accosted the victim.

Investigators say one of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the victim give them money from the cash registers and safe. The suspects did receive a sum of money and stole cigarettes from behind the counter area.

The suspects then fled the area in a vehicle, driven by a third suspect.

Following an intensive investigation, three men were arrested and charged with Robbery, Theft and related offenses: Saquan Dockery, 27 of Reading. Jeffrey Simons, 23 of Reading. Raheem Baptiste, 22 of Reading.

At the time of his arrest, police say Dockery was in possession of a handgun. The investigation into the firearm and charges as a result are being handled by the Northern Berks Regional Police Department.

Assisting in the investigation was the Wyomissing Police Department, The Northern Berks Regional Police Department, The Reading Police Department, Berks County Probation and PA State Parole.
